… someone you didn’t know a few days ago, manages to color your watermarks, sketch possibilities on your ideas of perspectives. But a few days were enough for our discussions to fully integrate Corine, as a benevolent advisor and arbitrator of balance. Corine has succeeded in projecting the square and regulated world of construction into our dreams: she immediately listened to us, guided us, pushed us to detail our desires and needs. She added her energetic touch, and the interplay of interior and exterior.
So we opened the project with Archidoers. Structured in clear and logical steps, we completed the discussions that allowed Corine to make the first plans for the layout and renovation: the Sketch. We remember the first formal presentation of these plans: we were curious to see how all our ideas would end up in « measurements » and « dimensions ». Curious and prepared in a way, since we had already discussed the content of our imagination. Well, we were not prepared to be surprised. Completely seduced, and completely surprised by ideas that were hiding behind the scenes of the architect.
But besides this creativity and sensitivity, Corine is of course a seasoned professional. She knows the gap between the owner’s expectations and the availability of all the stakeholders who will make the project a reality. At the beginning of the project, we were in a hurry, (as many are) and we did not know the detours of building permits, studies, choices, decisions. We organized ourselves in a fluid and efficient way by sharing files through Dropbox, and tasks through Trello. We agreed to reduce the steps as much as possible while allowing us to do the studies, and to adapt our plans to the results of these studies. And from being in a hurry, we became involved.
When I think about it, today, during the inquiry « pause » between the conception (behind in the past) and the realization (in front in the future), the course of the project has been just perfect. Surely a little tiring for Corine who dedicated herself to our project to remove all the blocking points, all the questions, but of a fluidity and a rare efficiency.
And if I had to condense all that Corine offered us in our ideas and plans, it would be “inout”, a word that does not yet exist elsewhere than at Archidoers and at us….
